Smile Through the Storm ….

No longer do I take anything for granted. Never have I been so thankful or aware of the blessings I’ve been given. I wake up with purpose, I look forward to the day ahead. Although much is gone, all is not lost. I’m making the best out of this post-adoption alternate life. I look into my babies’ eyes and feel truly alive. My heart fills full and I just want to pour my love out onto them.

I believe God wants me to be joyful while I wait on Him to act, I should not be waiting in misery. He knows my heart and my plight. He knows what happened but more importantly, how it happened.

I will be what I call ‘anxiously patient’ and I will trust that when it comes time to be reunited with my beloved niece, God will carry us through, heal our battle wounds, and help us put the past behind and give us a bright future to look toward.

At this point, I’m just happy and proud that I have survived this up to this point because it has been so very difficult. It’s hard to balance a happy daily life with a sadness that never goes away. You’re happy at the surface, but down deep lies an ache that weighs your heart down.

God’s love and healing makes my heart feel like it has fluttery-little- wings, a sign that He will never leave me and will always take care of me.

He eases the pain, He shines light in the darkness, and I’m never alone because He is always with me.

I’m blessed, I’m thankful, and I always remember it.

Praise God for His mercy and infinite love …. He heals the broken-hearted, and gives rest to the weary ….

    • Thank you so much I hope you continue to follow ! I haven’t put contact details because I really never thought about it. People just connect with me here.. I value my privacy but when something so horrible happens it makes the private things pubic, which is just another bothersome part of this situation. I’m still getting used to the idea of sharing the most intimate details of my personal life with the world. If that makes any sense! …

      Blessings to you~

  2. First off I want to say wonderful blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was interested to find out how you center yourself and clear your head prior to writing.

I have had a hard time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there.
I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just
seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes tend to be wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips?
    Cheers!

    • Thank you for your kindness! For me, I always write when I need to write. The words are already swirling around and need to be let out. It’s like I can’t do anything until the words are written out.

I never set a time to write, I just write when the words are already ready, so to speak. And once I start, I don’t like to be interrupted. In fact, I decorated a wooden door hanger that says ‘Writing in Progress’ because once I start, it’s like trying to stop a speeding train. lol ….

My best advice is to write what you know. It’s easier to write about something you know about personally than to sit down and make up a story. On the other hand, if you do want to write fiction, perhaps they would be stories of hopes and dreams, fears or fantasy. Another thing that is helpful, is a writing ‘partner’, someone to bounce ideas off, someone to proofread, someone to just enjoy the writing experience with you. But that someone needs to be someone who sticks to writing daily, that’s a writer. A writer is always writing something, and you want someone to help keep you excited and focused about writing.

Those are just a few simple ideas but feel free to contact me should you need anything I can help with! I hope you continue to follow my blog as the story continues…

      Blessings to you ~

  5. Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is valuable and everything. Nevertheless think of if you added some great visuals or video clips
to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and clips,
this blog could certainly be one of the most beneficial in its niche.

    Good blog!

    • Thank you and yes, I have planned to add more photos, personal effects, handwritten and handmade mementos, etc. In the past three years, I’ve had two surgeries and two babies on top of two teenagers and a fiancé, so I’m finally recovering steadily and able to give my blog more attention. This case that I have taken upon my shoulders for ten years has been a slow and steady race, and I’m finally able to get it all put together for a book dedicated to my sister, niece, and family. I went through the huge box of adoption “stuff” and in the future at least every other post will have something personal added to it. So thank you for your constructive criticism and compliments and I hope you continue to follow as our story continues to unfold. Please post blog site to your social media to help raise awareness!
